Ed. #7 - Brand New

Have you ever gotten tired of spending money on repairing an old car because it now longer worked the way the manfacturer designed it to work and you said to yourself, "I'm just going to trade this thing off and get a 'brand new' one"? Do you like the feel of things new? If you could, would you create the most important things in your life, including yourself and your loved ones, new all over again? Well, you know what, God feels the same way about us. So what does he do about it?
Well, God has a plan where your human spirit, which is not working too well according to his thinking, can be re-created and become totally new. You may be thinking, "what in the world are you talking about?". Here's God's plan. He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, (John 3:16) to come and take our sinful nature upon himself on the cross. This makes it possible for us to become "born again" and have a newly created human nature; one that never existed before. Now you say, "I never heard of that before. Where does it say that in the Bible?". Let me tell you where. It's in II Corinthians 5 verse 17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature (or created being) old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
Here is my translation of the above scripture: If anybody will give his life to me (Jesus) I will transform it from the old human spirit which is locked into sin, sickness and disease, and poverty and create a new human spirit which never existed before. This new spirit (your innermost being) will be in the image and likeness of God (Genisis 1:26) and you will have such an affinity for me that you will be able to have victory in all the issues of life. This is called being born again. John 3:3 - Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again he cannot see (understand or participate in) the Kingdom of God. Kenneth Copeland puts it this way: When you were born again, your human spirit was completely recreated. You received all the qualities, all the spiritual forces, all the things of God that Adam had in the Garden of Eden, (before the fall) plus all the things in Jesus when God raised Him from the dead. (Freedom From Fear, page 12 & 13). That's quite a mouthful, but it's true.
So, if you are tired of operating in your old human spirit which has a tendancy to sin and failure, just confess your sins to God and ask Jesus to come and take over your life and you will receive a completely new spirit which is able to hear from God and receive all the blessings here on earth plus eternal life with him. Sounds like a deal to me.
God Bless, Glory to God,
