Here's a quick question for everyone. Are you in Shortfall or Overflow? You may thinking, “I would answer your question if I understood the question” or “what do you mean by shortfall and overflow?”. Well, according to Webster’s New Collegiate Dictionary, shortfall is defined as: failure to come up to a goal or need. Overflow is defined as: something that flows over, or surplus. So, now, are you in shortfall or overflow?
The answer to the above question is, of course, found in the Word of God. John 10:10 from the Amplified Bible: The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
Have you ever thought about God’s examples of abundance? His mind can only think in terms of overflow. Just look at the Garden of Eden. It overflowed with an abundance of everything. There were only two people to share the Garden, Adam and Eve, yet there were trees of every kind and grass and every herb yielding seed. (GE. 1:11,12) God also said, “Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life” GE. 1:20. There were, literally, thousands of creatures that He created to fill the Earth. Look at the stars in the heavens and the sands of the sea. It’s very clear that everything God does is in overflow. If all that was not enough, He told all those creatures to multiply. (GE. 1:22) God doesn’t subtract or divide, or even add, He multiplies.
God created man in his own image and likeness. (GE. 1:27) If you could have put God and Adam side by side you couldn’t tell one from the other. Then He told Adam and Eve to “be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the Earth” (GE. 1:28) Notice, God didn’t tell Adam and Eve to replenish the Garden, He said to replenish the Earth. God’s intent was for the whole Earth to look just like the Garden and it will someday. So where did we get the idea of lack or shortfall? Man invented it, to explain his disobedience, and then he blamed God for it. The other day I heard Jesse Duplantis say that God told him that if he didn’t preach to more people, get more people saved and heal more people then Jesus he would be in disobedience. He said, after all, “you’re flying around in an airplane to preach and Jesus had to ride a donkey”.
The world system is full of lack and shortfall. Just listen to the way they talk. Every day they say that we’re running out of oil, out of water, and certain animals are on the endangered species list. They think lack and talk lack and they will have what they say. (Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks). The world system has lack and shortfall. God has abundance and overflow. Where do you want to be, on the world’s system of lack and shortfall or on God’s system of abundance and overflow?
If you would like to be in overflow the place to start is by making a verbal confession; not a whispered confession but an out loud confession. Maybe you don't believe this confession stuff works and just saying things doesn't make it happen. It does if you believe it. People have what they say every day. People I hear talking are saying things like, "I believe I'm taking the flu", and sure enough, they get it. Why would anybody want to "take" the flu? I also hear them say, "My company's laying off a bunch of people. I'll probably be one of the first ones to get layed off." When they do get layed off they say, "I knew it. That's just my luck". No, it's not just their luck. They helped bring it about because that was their confession.
Before we make any confession let us understand that confession alone does not work. We must believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths just like Romans 10:9 says, “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe with thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” If you don’t yet believe what you are about to confess then just feed your mind and spirit more on the Word of God because “Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of the Lord”.
Now, are you ready? Confess with me now:
I AM NOT IN SHORTFALL! I AM IN OVERFLOW!
I believe I receive!
Enjoy your Overflow,
Glory to God,
